“May I have a word with you?”
“What’s the word, hummingbird?”
The word for us, in 2017, is PHENOMENAL. We are celebrating Phenomenal Women and Phenomenal Men, those stalwart professionals out there creating entrepreneurial businesses.
Words are powerful tools, often misrepresented or misunderstood, in the greater concept of building a strong, successful business. As human beings we tend to speak without thinking. The natural vernacular of the community flows out of our mouths as easy as air. Words become crutches, used to support thoughts or feelings that build fences instead of opportunities; a shared narrative that gets stale if we do not bring real energy and thought to it.
We’re all about narrative, we creatures called human beings. We’re about the story. When that word is spoken -“story”- I often imagine a scene from years past, full of figures in the dark, around a blazing fire. I think of darkness, with thousands of pinpoint stars twinkling in a navy blue sky, overhead. The story creeps into my heart as I watch ancient men and women, relatives to us all, wave their arms as they dance about the flames, singing, laughing, crying, bringing to life the history of the tribe and the bravery of the hunters who keep us alive.
There is ample support for silence, in the telling of stories, also. Mimes do the work of words, using props, and exaggerated facial expressions. We muse, in the silence, on what the story makes us feel, on how the story is full of color and action and joy, or sorrow.
Often, the images created from the story told, creeps into our brains in the form of words and pictures together. I think in words, as often as pictures, do you? I ask myself questions, as I image the scene created. I talk to myself, verbalizing my sorrow or my joy, even as the image seeps into my soul.
“I need to get toothpaste at the store today,” we think as we brush our teeth in the morning. Words.
“That appointment needs to be changed,” we think, as we review our calendar. Words.
A song comes on the radio or TV, we see images, but the song is words, is it not?
My purpose at Your Publishing Pros is to help you craft the story of you; that unique story of you, the one that brings energy, life, color, and excitement to your business narrative.
Your story should dance in people’s brains when they hear you tell it, or when they read it on your website (or, perhaps, in a book?). Your story needs to resonate with each person who hears it or who reads it! The song of you should be a melody that prospects cannot get out of their brain.
Writing is a craft. Many people shy away from it. It’s too hard, they say. I can’t do it, they say. I’ll do it next year, they say.
I’m here to tell you that…it is next year. It’s the Year of the Phenomenal Woman and the men who love her. Embrace your Diva Status. Get the story out! Get it out on your website’s about page, get it out in a keynote speech; in a book. In all of those platforms. This is the year to get it out everywhere.
We have not said “why” … because the why is understood. Phenomenal women should share their awesomeness – with the whole world. The whole world is waiting to hear from you.
The word is PHENOMENAL. Phenomenal you. Email me today – let’s begin the conversation before another day goes by! yvonne (at) yvonnedivita (dot) com.
